The Paramedical Services “Provide Basic Emergency Life Support” course will give you the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life-threatening emergencies in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. It is relevant to all workers who may be required to provide an emergency response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. Communicating details of an incident, including handover to the ambulance and reporting requirements and Debriefing and evaluation of response to critical incidents.
About the Provide Basic Emergency Life Support (HLTAID002) course
The Paramedical Basic emergency life support (HLTAID002) course is a nationally accredited module recognized across all industries. This course provides students with the skills and knowledge to recognise a cardiac emergency situation, provide emergency life support and provide first aid until the arrival of medical or other assistance. Topics included are; Allergic reactions, anaphylaxis and Asthma, Bleeding Control and Shock along with Choking and airway obstruction. The course will provide you with the ability to communicate details of an incident, including handover to the ambulance and reporting requirements. Debriefing and evaluation of response to critical incidents. Upon successful completion a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for HLTAID002, incorporating HLTAID001 will be issued.
There are no entry requirements for this course, you can enrol at the Paramedical Services School at any time.
Duration of Course conducted face-to-face over 6 hours’ classroom training and assessment includes didactic and practical sessions (with online or workbook pre work). You will receive access to our online student portal for the pre course work, first aid emergency manual, training and assessment, HLTAID002, incorporating HLTAID001 Statement of Attainment, Practice face mask and your student activity workbook to complete on the training day.
