The Paramedical Services Collect Specimens for drugs of abuse Testing (HLTPAT005) course provides students with the skills and knowledge required to confirm collection requirements, prepare client and equipment and collect specimens via urine and/or oral and breath testing following the special procedures that apply for drugs of abuse testing. This unit applies to individuals working in collection centres, in hospitals, in other health care environments and workplaces where drugs of abuse testing takes place.
About the Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing (HLTPAT005) course
This course is designed to have you trained according to the Australian Standards AS/NZS 4308:2008 or AS 4760-2006 for the collection of non-blood specimens such as urine and/or oral fluids and breath analysis within a variety of environments.
There are no entry requirements for this course, you can enrol at the Paramedical Services School at any time.
8 hours (1 day) classroom training and assessment (with online or workbook post course work) and 18 hours on the Job Testing Training.
