We employ over 50 full time and casual staff providing community and corporate clients with an improved standard of education in pre-hospital care, sporting and industrial medical support, Work Injury Response Service (WIRS) and non-emergency patient transport.

Garry Mikhail

B. HlthSc (Pre Hosp Care), Dip Amb Studies, MANZCP, MPA

Garry is a graduate from the Charles Sturt University with a Bachelor of Health Science (Pre-Hospital). Garry has a keen interest in pre-hospital care and aeromedical retrieval which was consolidated over 40 years in Pre-Hospital Healthcare, with the Royal Australian Navy and the NSW Ambulance Service, as an Intensive Care and SCAT Paramedic.

Mr. Mikhail established Paramedical Services Pty Ltd in 1991 to provide community and corporate clients with an improved standard of education in pre-hospital care, sporting and industrial medical support, Work Injury Response Service (WIRS) and non-emergency patient transport (NEPT). Since then he has grown the company from 2 to 60 employees in 2 states, and pioneered the introduction of private provision of advanced prehospital care at sporting events, as well as developing the first nationally accredited prehospital care training program in Australia.

Garry is a regular speaker nationally on pre-hospital care and is a lecturer for the Bachelor of Health Science (Pre-Hospital Care), and Bachelor of Clinical Practice (Paramedic) at Charles Sturt University and the Australian Catholic University.

Dr. Peter Mangles

Dr Peter Mangles has spent the majority of his professional career at a Director, Managing Director, CEO and General Manager level and has had the opportunity to work in a number of different countries and regions (Australia, the United Kingdom, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, West Papua and Papua New Guinea) as a senior healthcare executive. Peter is also a registered nurse and was an Intensive Care SCAT paramedic (NSW Ambulance) with qualifications in trauma and aviation nursing. Peter was also responsible for the development of the first nationally accredited prehospital care training program in Australia.

Peter has a passion for prehospital emergency care and has operated ambulance and retrieval services in Indonesia and was responsible for the delivery of primary occupational health and emergency prehospital care for over 50 off shore drilling assets in the North Sea (UK). Whilst in the United Kingdom, Peter was responsible for offshore medic training in Aberdeen and worked closely with the UK Coast Guard and helicopter operators in the management of sick and injured offshore workers.

Dr. Andrew Hill - Medical Advisor

MBBS; FANZCA

Dr Hill is a Specialist Anaesthetist and Retrieval Specialist with over 10 years experience in critical care medicine in both the pre-hospital and hospital setting. Particular interest in emergency surgery, trauma, neurosurgery and obstetric anaesthesia. Dr Hill is the Medical Director for Paramedical Services and is a dedicated teacher and facilitator of junior medical officers, students, EMT’s and Paramedics.

Dr Hill is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and has a passion and interest for pre-hospital emergency medicine, the provision of pre-hospital critical care, triage and working in multidisciplinary first responder teams. Dr Hill continues to work as a retrieval consultant with the NSW Ambulance Service rotary winged retrieval services.

Dr. Alex Duong - Medical Advisor

MBBS; FACEM

Dr Duong is an Emergency Physician with over 10 years’ experience in emergency and critical care medicine. He has particular interest in trauma and pre-hospital medicine, with experience in Major Trauma Hospitals, aeromedical retrieval and trackside medical support for motorsport activities.

Dr Duong is a Fellow of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine who has worked extensively in Emergency Departments across Victoria and aeromedical retrieval with Careflight NSW. He is currently working as a full time Emergency Physician at Dandenong Hospital in Victoria. With his passion for critical care, trauma and pre hospital care, he continues to be involved with medical support for motorsport activity and teaching on the “Emergency Trauma Course”.


Dr Peter Smith - Medical Advisor

MBBS FACEM

Practicing Emergency Physician with over 20 years experience as a Senior Consultant. During that time he has held the positions of Head of Department, Director of Emergency Medicine Training and Regional Disaster Coordinator. He holds positions on Australasian College for Emergency Medicine committees in Ultrasound Credentialing, Fellowship Examination Question writing and Sports Medicine Liaison.

Dr Smith has mentored scores of Emergency Medicine trainees and seen them through to Fellowship, as well as supervising hundreds of Junior Doctors during their Emergency Medicine rotations at both Wollongong and Shellharbour Hospitals. He is current with his College’s requirements for Maintenance of Professional Standards and has a keen interest in Quality Processes and extending the application of Point of Care Ultrasound in clinical practice.

Amuk Shandil - Operations Manager

B. Med Sci; Cert IV HlthCare (Ambulance); Cert IV TAE; Cert III HSA

Prior to his appointment as Operations Manager, Amuk served as a full time practising EMT with Paramedical Services for a number of years. He has worked primarily in our WIRS and non-emergent Patient Transport services. He has significant experience in providing medical support in a first response capacity on standby at events in industrial, commercial and public settings including work sites, schools, sporting and recreation as well as corporate events.

Amuk has completed a Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of Technology, Sydney and has also achieved a Certificate IV in Healthcare (Ambulance), Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and will complete the Diploma of Paramedical Science.

Amuk has previously taught at a tertiary level with a focus on developing scientific skills in the field of Medical and Molecular Biosciences. He also has experience in training staff and the implementation of Quality Control processes and management of Quality Management Systems in the private sector

Ms. Carol Valentine - Office Manager

Ms. Carol Valentine is the Office Manager and has worked for Paramedical Services for 20 years. Carol is responsible for driving and overseeing all of the office management services for our Sydney office and functions as a key support person for our South Australian business.

Carol has the responsibility to manage the Administration team to deliver excellence, establishing and maintaining office protocols and is responsible for reception and all client touch points. Ms. Valentine manages the relationship with suppliers and contractors, and maintains, replenishes and anticipates procurement of supplies and equipment in line with allocated budget.

Mrs. Belinda Crean - Training and Education Manager

Belinda’s love of training began in 1997, whilst responsible initially for the training and development of staff and then later assistant managers at a national hospitality provider. Underlying a love of teaching, Belinda also has a passion for helping people and for many years she worked as a lifeguard, swimming instructor and pool director both in Australia and America.

In 2009, Belinda combined her passions and started a boutique health care training company called CPRHELP. For 6 years Belinda has been lucky enough to spend countless hours teaching students and adults how to respond to a variety of emergencies. In 2012 Belinda decided to develop her pre-hospital training and completed her Cert IV in Health Care (Ambulance). Belinda is currently studying her Diploma in Paramedical Science. In conjunction with training, Belinda has been working as an Emergency Medical Technician since 2012, initially with Pink First Aid and now with Paramedical Services.

Belinda brings a positive energy to her training sessions, ensuring they are fun and easily understood

Ms. Shanon Stanley - Senior Paramedic Trainer

NDip; Intensive Care Paramedic; Cert. Mgt SocCare; Cert IV Training & Assessment

Shanon completed her Diploma in Emergency Medical Care at the Cape Peninsular University of Technology in conjunction with Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town South Africa in 2007. Her training focused on Medical Rescue, Aeromedical Rescue, Fire Fighter Training, Wilderness Search and Rescue, Mountain Rescue and Disaster Management. Upon graduation, Shanon had the opportunity to work in underprivileged communities around Cape Town as an Advanced Life Support Paramedic.

Shanon began working in Australia in 2013 for Paramedical Services. Her roles within the company involve continued paramedical work, medical training to a diploma level and quality improvement across current training courses. Shanon is passionate about sharing her knowledge and years of medical experience with others and is dedicated to ensuring her training is thought provoking and relevant to her participants.
